The interesting and worthwhile event dedicated to the Italian Monovarietal olive oils and table olives organized by AIPOL (Interprovincial Association of Olive Manufacturers of Lombardy) and ASSAM Marche (Marche Agri-Food Sector Service Agency) took place on Saturday, September 5 in Villa Galnica in Puegnago del Garda. After the introduction of Silvano Zanelli, President of AIPOL, Barbara Alfei, panel Leader of ASSAM Marche, talked about the last harvest. Dispite the difficulties, the producers proposed high quality EVOOs to the 12th Italian National Exhibition of Monovarietal Extra Virgin Olive Oils: Barbara Alfei gave us some hints about the different varieties and proposed 5 samples for a tasting session. Tonino Cioccolanti, President of Flavor, Professionals Tasters Association, proposed an in-depth introduction to the techniques of production and professional tasting of table olives. Maria Paola Gabusi, President of O’Live & Italy introduced the defects of table olives and their causes and guided a stimulating tasting session of some samples.
A delicious typical lunch paired with monovarietal EVOOs concluded the event.
